Hire Date 11/2/1978 – “Mercedes-Benz is my gem,” says owner, Mr. Bryan Hardeman. A terrific brand and the first automobile, Mercedes-Benz is constantly at the helm of new state-of-the-art technology and design that often awes its competitors. Mercedes-Benz was one of the first brands Mr. Hardeman acquired when he bought Continental Cars, originally located off 6th street in downtown Austin. He remembers this site ironically as the location where he bought his first car when he was 17. Now, he did not get to keep this car (a 1966 MG retailing at around fifteen hundred bucks at the time), which he bought without his parents’ knowledge and parked at his brother’s garage off campus at UT. He is humored by the memory of being caught in the first week of ownership by a teacher who spotted him cruising downtown. From there, word quickly got back to his father and, thus, the keys back to the dealership. Despite this lapse in judgment as a youngster, Mr. Hardeman is known throughout the dealership as an all-around nice guy and family man above all else. His family includes his loving wife, Rebecca, and their three children, two of whom (Will and Genny) work at the dealerships taking on day-to-day management. Their youngest (by two and a half minutes), Joy, is attending Mr. Hardeman’s alma mater, UT, in her second year of law school. Mr. Hardeman boasts about how proud he is of the spread here at the Continental Automotive Group and how the average employee has worked for him an incredible 15+ years! “The car business is a people business, and having the right people be a part of our family here is the most important thing, and we have the right people!”

You might recognize her, she’s the girl jogging around the neighborhood, pushing a stroller with one hand and holding two dogs with the other. Her favorite thing in life is James, who comes to the dealership with her almost everyday and loves to smile at everyone that stops by their office to say hi.
Hire Date 9/8/2015 – James’ first day on the job was just one week after being born, making him Continental Automotive Group’s youngest employee ever.
