Our History and Experience
The Mercedes-Benz of Austin Service Department has been working for Austin customers since 1964, when it was established as part of Continental Cars, Inc. Service Manager Chris Hirsh began servicing automobiles at Continental Cars when he was 19 and has now been with the Continental Automotive Group for 36 years. Similarly, many of the technicians at Mercedes-Benz of Austin have the type of experience that can only be gained through a career of servicing Mercedes-Benz vehicles. One team leader technician has been with the Service Department for 43 years, and, together, the technicians at Mercedes-Benz of Austin have over 200 years of cumulative experience with Mercedes-Benz. The unparalleled expertise of our veteran technicians, in addition to the specialized skill and talent of the more recent team additions, provides the Service Department with the expert capability to handle a multitude of service issues on the widest variety of Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

…and that was in the late 1980s! Today’s technicians must be electronics and computer experts as well as good mechanics. Each technician at Mercedes-Benz of Austin receives factory training and certification, and as a result our technicians have over 1400 days of cumulative training direct from Mercedes-Benz. This specialized training, combined with the continual updates we receive from Mercedes-Benz engineers, ensures that our technicians always have the most accurate and up-to-date information on how to service your vehicle efficiently and correctly. As an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, we are also required to purchase and use the best parts and equipment and maintain the latest computer software direct from the factory. Mercedes-Benz OEM parts are the exact fit and specification to ensure your vehicle performs as engineered, and the parts carry a one year unlimited mileage warranty, including labor.
Service Procedures and Value
Each time your vehicle is brought in for service, we consult the Mercedes-Benz database to see if any product improvement programs are available and then perform the appropriate updates. An electronic and hard copy of detailed vehicle history is kept for all work that is done on your vehicle. With detailed records of all maintenance, factory updates, and other service performed, your vehicle will command the highest dollar available at time of resale. Also, while your vehicle is under the manufacturer’s warranty, Mercedes-Benz will reimburse the dealership for any repairs performed that are covered. In addition, we will process any Extended Warranty claims, including calling in the claim, working with the inspectors, and processing the paperwork for payment to the dealer so you won’t have to wait for reimbursement.
The employees in our dealership are trained to field your questions to our service department specialists, schedule your service appointments, and arrange for a shuttle ride or loaner vehicle while your vehicle is in the shop. As a convenience for all our service customers, we employ a team of shuttle drivers familiar with Austin and the surrounding areas who will take care of transporting you to and from the dealership while we are taking care of your vehicle. Additionally we have new model Mercedes-Benz vehicles that are available for our customers at no charge during their scheduled service appointments. We also have an Express Service option to save you time and travel during those service and maintenance items that take less than 2 hours to complete. While you wait at our facility, customers can enjoy our complimentary beverage and snack bar, comfortable waiting area with televisions and computer workstations, and free high-speed wireless internet access. Upon completion of any service, we will always hand wash the exterior and vacuum the interior of your vehicle.
